The 2nd Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza Art Exhibit

 

Centro Cultural Aztlan in conjunction with Ford Motor Company's 14th Annual Mariachi Vargas Festival the first annual mariachi-themed art competition and exhibit. The artwork will be on display at Centro Cultural Aztlan beginning December 2nd through December 9th. The artwork includes images of internationally-recognized Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, mariachi students and other mariachi-inspired portraits. The exhibit will also showcase the 100-plus year old rich tradition of mariachi music as it known today. One talented artist will be selected from the art competition. Their art will be featured in the Mariachi Vargas concert program, publicity materials and other promotional materials associated with the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. Finalists will receive two complimentary tickets to the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza. The winner will be announced on December 2nd at the mariachi art reception at the Centro Cultural Aztlan. The mariachi-inspired art competition and exhibit will feature over ten local artists. One of which is popular artist Raul Servin, whose art has been displayed citywide in several galleries and exhibits. Among other prestigious artists include Angel Rodriguez-Diaz, Frank Harris Puente, Annie Marie Gomez, Feliciano Leon, Guadalupe Ortega, Jose Segura, Jesus Moron, Jeffrey Hull, Antonio Garcia, Gloria Sanchez Hart, David Blancas, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Angelica Gomez-Mayorga, Luis Valderas & many more.
